Samford Charity Campaign
The Samford Charity Campaign is the annual, university-wide voluntary giving campaign for faculty and staff to contribute to Samford University (restricted/unrestricted), Samford University Habitat for Humanity House and the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund. Faculty and staff may designate to the above sources in the amounts desired. Gifts to Samford help meet the university’s mission to offer quality education in a supportive environment with basic Christian values. Unrestricted funds help to meet critical needs, such as scholarships, laboratory and library resources, and faculty. It sustains the university’s vital operating and education programs at their most basic level. Through Samford Charity, you also may make a gift restricted to a specific school, department or program.
Samford Habitat House
Your gift will help Samford University, in partnership with Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity, build a house for a local family. Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical, grassroots, nonprofit Christian housing ministry committed to providing decent, affordable houses in partnership with God’s people in need. Samford faculty, staff and students will provide the money and labor for the Samford-built house.
Samford Employee Emergency Assistance Fund
Your gift will be used to assist Samford employees (full-time and part-time) who have experienced emergencies that require them to seek financial aid. Monies received for the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund are invested and paid out according to the direction of the Emergency Assistance Committee of Samford University. An emergency must result from an event beyond the employee’s control, such as fire, acts of nature, theft of property, illness or death in immediate family, and loss of employment. All Samford employees are eligible to receive $1,500.00 in one-time assistance and $5,000.00 in lifetime assistance. Application for assistance is available online under Samford Forms on the Human Resources webpage, in addition to the link below. All requests are confidential.
